Two species - the "Dark Ones" & Humans in conflict for generations. Humans hiding in caves after they were finally
defeated by the Dark Ones - whom they had tried to enslaved.
When one of the humans tries to make contact with the Dark Ones a friendship develops. The Dark One is able to learn to
pass as a human and spends time with the humans learning about them.
At one point, the two of them merge into a single being, then separate back into their separate selves. What magic caused
this? Was some ancient curse in the distant past responsible for separating a single race into two? How can they finally
come back together and save both races?

A group of dragons refuses to follow the orders of the dragon council and continue to attack the humans. Another group
is sent to bring them back to the Dragon Flame Mountains, accompanied by several mages. In the fight that occurs, the
power of one of the mages goes wild and destroys the dragons and makes a wasteland of the battlefield. One dragon
survives to return home and tell what happened to the others.
